The Guitar

The room silent.

Cold.

Rain falling on the window

I don't mind the rain.
I don't mind the darkness

It's the silence that kills me

My guitar by my chair.

20 frets
6 strings
Life

I'm stumbling down the fretboard. C, B, A minor. My mind spinning and tripping, thoughts rushing

The notes dipping down
And soaring back up to F
And G

My spirit following
And I'm running up the fretboard
The guitar talking for me
Saying things I could never say
Letting loose the storm
Let loose the spirit

Hold that note in the silence

Those frets
Strings
Notes
In my heart

This is me
